Internship Opportunity: Master's Level Social Work Administrative Intern
Internship Overview
We are seeking a Master's level Social Work administrative intern to support our Clinical Director and leadership team in various capacities. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in both administrative and community-focused aspects of a non-profit mental health organization. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who aspires to be an executive director for a non-profit organization.
Key Responsibilities
Administrative Support:
Monitor and ensure compliance within our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
Generate reports to provide service and financial summaries to leadership team.
Collect and organize demographic and service-related information to accurately represent our clients and services for future grants and fundraising efforts.
Assist the Clinical Director in vetting new therapist interns and associates, collecting documents, and initial onboarding.
Assist the Clinical Director with the maintenance of procedures and organizational handbooks.
Support board members with administrative tasks including creating agendas, maintaining board meeting records, to-do reminders, and committee development.
Program Development:
Collaborate with the team to expand client services by planning and organizing mindfulness-based classes and workshops.
Support Counseling Committee in program development - defining policies, procedures, and goals.
Work with Clinical Director and Counseling Committee to plan training opportunities for current therapists.
Assist with volunteer recruitment and vetting to support our programs and events.
Client Services
Serve as an initial point of contact for inquiries, providing information about our services.
Connect therapists with clients and ensure they have a smooth onboarding experience.
Provide other referrals and resources to inquiries when needed.
Community Outreach and Social Media:
Engage in networking activities with other agencies and community organizations to foster partnerships and enhance our community presence.
Keep the community, donors, and volunteers informed about our services and events through occasional Instagram and Facebook posts.
Create a quarterly newsletter for MWCA to email to community members, donors, and volunteers.
Fundraising and Grant Prep:
Support the planning and execution of our annual fundraising event (Amplify Austin / I Live Here I Give Here).
Work with leadership team to brainstorm and execute new fundraising opportunities.
Assist in preparing necessary data and documentation for grant applications.
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in a Master's program in Social Work (MSW).
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to navigate database systems, Google drive/docs/sheets, Slack, and basic administrative processes.
Interest in mindfulness and mental health.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience or interest in data management, fundraising, and outreach is a plus.
Learning Outcomes
