Clinical Director - Part Time

 

MWCA is currently seeking a clinical director

This important role ensure we deliver quality, ethical, and mindfulness-based counseling services to our clients. The Clinical Director will oversee the organization's affordable counseling clinical operations, ensuring client satisfaction and a rich learning environment for burgeoning therapists.

This part-time position will average 6 hours per week and responsibilities include:

  • Weekly and monthly oversight of clinical operations

  • Supervise 1 Social Work admin student during internship and adhere to student’s program guidelines and requirements

  • Prepare monthly payroll report, including monthly gross service revenue and distribute to board Treasurer

  • Write one blog post per month containing your current reflections on therapy, mindfulness, and coping tips / techniques for self care or current events.

  • Lead one 60-minute consultation group meeting via Zoom for all therapists 

  • Lead one 2-hour training every six months on using mindfulness therapy models (i.e. IFS, ACT, Self Compassion, Polyvagal) in clinical practice

  • Communicate with therapists and board members using Slack

  • Conduct quarterly evaluations directly with student supervisors and provide feedback to the board 

  • Collaborate with the board and future program/executive director to uphold MWCA's mission and improve the organization's clinical services

BOARD ENGAGEMENT

The Clinical Director provides important information about the counseling program to the Board of Directors.

The Clinical Director will provide a bi-monthly report to the Board with the option of attending a board meeting. Twice a year board meetings are held in-person in Austin; others are via Zoom.

Supervision of Social Work Students

MWCA currently has a Student Supervisor with an LPC and LMFT license and is responsible for supervising counseling students that are NOT in a social work program. We usually have one social work administrative student per semester that needs supervision from a social worker. LMSWs in Texas can supervise admin students; LMSWs in Texas can supervise clinical / counseling.

compensation

The Clinical Director will submit a timesheet for hours and paid at $50 / hour with a cap of $1,700 per month

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or higher in social work 

  • Licensed as a master or clinical social worker in the state of Texas

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in clinical counseling

  • Experience in using mindfulness-based therapy models in a clinical setting (ACT, IFS, Self Compassion, DBT)

  • Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills

  • Board approved supervisor OR experience supervising student interns (Optional)

  • Experience using TheraNest electronic health records (EHR) software (Optional)

  • Experience or interest in bringing neuroscience, polyvagal theory and attachment theory into clinical practice

This is a part-time position with an average of 6 hours per week.  The Clinical Director will report to the board during bi-monthly meetings and have monthly check-ins with select board members.
